![]() ![]() That's pretty much the only reason I keep Air Video around, just some high bitrate 720p stuff.that I should probably just dump into iTunes one of these days and use the regular Videos app. Like I remember it letting me try high bitrate 1080p stuff on my first iPad even through it'd just end up in a crash. ![]() I asked the dev about it way back and said he implemented it that way cause there was some streaming anwhile Air Video is fine with just streaming if a video is in the mp4 container, regardless of whether it should actually do so. ![]() StreamToMe is kind of strict with it though, like above a certain bitrate it'll still transcode, most 720p stuff in my experience. Did you try Stream to Me at the highest bit rate settings? The transcoded quality in my experience looks better in Stream to Me as well. Stream to Me has the option to play supported h.264 streams without transcoding, whereas Air Video transcodes everything. Image quality was one of the main reasons why I picked Stream to Me over Air Video actually. Really wanted to like it, the ability to search is a big plus, but in the one area that really mattered, video quality, it just couldn't measure up to AirVideo. Just copied from iTunes and took out the really 'meh' ones I don't use or like much
